Challenge

To prevent system failures and electric instabilities during transition between grid connected and islanding modes, especially for sensitive facilities such as data centers.

Solution

To design and build two transportable microgrid Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) that use lithium-ion technology and can integrate with solar energy and NAVY site generation. To also install a synchronous condenser and a control system that can ensure stable power quality and seamless transition.
