The Port has set the decarbonization as one of its three main strategic objectives. It has set as a first target the reduction of 50% by 2030 and to become carbon neutral before 2050.
The port also sets as a goal to become a major hub for sustainable energy and to contribute to the reduction of the environmental impact of its hinterland.

Solution
A comprehensive plan counting with the involvement of the Port Community, a clear direction of the steps that the Port Authority will take to allow the full decarbonization of its activities.
The port has been participating in the PIONEERS project which has been very helpful in the development of its Energy Transition Master Plan
The plan takes an holistic framework to gather all the needs of the Port Community together with all the potential projects to maximise its resilience.
Decarbonisation, Sustainability, Resilience and Innovation are the core objectives of the ETMP
10 pathways will be developed in order to meet the four different objectives set by the plan.
